With an extensive background in both the non-profit and private sectors, I’m proficient across all industries. Keeping up with the latest trends I know the value of including accomplishments (not just a job description) and the importance of including a list of your competencies and transferable skills. I also know how to best target your field of intended employment, whether you’re new to the workforce, changing jobs, or advancing in your career.

When applying for a position, know that your resume isn’t typically going directly to a recruiter or hiring manager. A growing number of businesses first filter submissions through an applicant tracking system (ATS). How well your resume is formatted for ATS algorithms (how it reads it) can make all the difference as to whether you’re called for an interview or not. I’m an expert at ATS formatting.

When it comes to writing cover letters, it’s important to understand that they work best when they’re tailored to a specific employer. Customizing your cover letter in this way is more engaging; it portrays you as a serious candidate. A generic cover letter, on the other hand, can give the opposite impression, in turn potentially reducing your chances of getting an interview. While a resume’s purpose is to provide your potential employer with an overview of your past experience and skills, an effective cover letter expresses why you want the job and highlights how your skill set perfectly aligns with their needs. I deliver effective cover letters that target the job requirements in a specific way, leaving your resume to market your skills, qualifications, and experience as a part of the bigger picture.

Following my review of your resume, I’ll respond with questions to help me develop a more thorough and comprehensive version. After I’ve integrated your answers and formatted your resume, I’ll send it to you (in PDF format) for your review and to provide any changes you may have. Once you’re satisfied with how your resume reads and looks, I’ll send the finalized Word doc for your files.
